About Me
Background
I am a science specialist with a laboratory background and a deep passion for teaching. After working hands-on in the laboratory field, I realized what energized me most was explaining the why behind it all.
I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and an Associate Degree in Natural Sciences, graduating with highest academic distinction. I previously worked as a laboratory technician in Molecular Genetics, including COVID-19 sample analysis and testing.
While training others in the lab, I found myself increasingly drawn to teaching. I enjoy breaking complex topics into understandable pieces and helping students feel capable and confident instead of intimidated.
Teaching Philosophy
My approach is patient, enthusiastic, and nonjudgmental. Each lesson combines clear instruction with practical strategies for studying, organization, and test preparation.
I help students actively engage with the material by emphasizing discussion and problem-solving, using the “I Do, We Do, You Do” model. Students don’t just absorb the material, they gain confidence in their ability to learn through real-world connections.
My goal goes beyond improving grades and comprehension - I guide students to think like scientists, creating a framework that can be used throughout their academic career. This method builds lifelong critical thinking skills while boosting motivation and sustained success by showing students how to learn.
